Silvermoon Knight (Part 1)

My PVP set transmog is mostly complete. The concept is what McTacky looked like before he was a Blood Knight. A Silvermoon Knight so to speak.

Hope to replace the mace with the [Shard of the Virtuous] from Maiden of Virtue in Karazhan or [Silvermoon War-Mace] a world drop but using [Merciless Gladiator's Gavel] for now. The first Piece I got was the [Silvermoon Crest Shield] and built the rest around that. Most of the armor is from the [Imperial Plate Set] which is also Blue/Silver. I abandoned that set's helm for a [Templar Crown]. The belt is [Icebane Girdle]. [Fluttering Sapphiron Drape] for the cloak. Gloves are [Reinforced Sapphirium Gloves]. Tabard is the [Frostwolf Battle Tabard].

Give me that [Shard of the Virtuous] to me, past me from June 2008!

Blood Knight in the Wild (Part 3)

Went to visit Azalpha, Exëcute, and Visenya (Moopie's Alt) out the front of Org and noticed another Blood Knight Blood Elf Paladan!, Einhard.

The most obvious difference is the Helmet and Tabard, Einhard is using [Deathspeaker Zealot's Helm] and the [Tabard of the Dragonmaw Clan]. He doesn't have the wrists transmogged so they aren't showing. The [Dark Iron Bracer] are more elbow guards than wristguards.

MacTacky Ding!

I decided to level up my Alliance Paladin today. Uldum I've found to be exactly the same being on my Alliance toon so far as it is on Horde. Loved Ramkahen quests, still annoyed by the Indiana Jones quests. Eventually I hit 84. I left Uldum as fast as I could at that point.

Now it is onto Twilight Higlands. But first I now have to escort around Prince Anduin while he inspires the men on the Docks.

Glory of the Raider (10 player)

Today myself, Exëcute, Aioros, Azalpha and Afranaisy went into Naxxramas (10 Player) to get achievements for Glory of the Raider (10 player).

First The Arachnid Quarter. We attacked Grand Widow Faerlina and somehow failed Momma Said Knock You Out (10 player). We pushed on and got Arachnophobia (10 player) for everyone and the Spiderwing was done.

We then went to The Construct Quarter that Exëcute kept calling the Plague Quarter, making Aioros go to the wrong spot. Eventually we all got to the same spot. Make Quick Werk of Him (10 player) done after Patchwerk fied within 3 minutes.

Grobbulus and Gluth fell with no effort then it was off to Thaddius. Subtraction (10 player) was simple enough since there were only five of us. Shocking! (10 player) need more planning since everyone was melee. Exëcute and Aioros stood out of the fight. Azalpha and Afranaisy meleed standing a different sides and I healed. Thaddius died in little time.

Then the real The Plague Quarter. Noth the Plaguebringer fight. Then for Heigan the Unclean we all stood up on the platform for The Safety Dance (10 player).

Then at the end of The Plague Quarter was Loatheb. We avoid AoE and Ret Aura and got Spore Loser in little time.

Then onto the Military Quarter! Smashed Instructor Razuvious with Aza tanking without bothering with the mind control. Waited around for the Gothik the Harvester fight to end.  Then we tried for And They Would All Go Down Together (10 player) but the last kill just took a moment too long.

Then there was the last place left. Frostwyrm Lair. On Sapphiron we did the fight we got The Hundred Club (10 player) for others. Then on Kel'Thuzad we killed 18 Abominations for Just Can't Get Enough (10 player). Since we killed all the boss with less then 10 people, we also got The Dedicated Few (10 player).

Then onto the Sartharion in The Obsidian Sanctum. Afranaisy left but we were joined by Roshii, Ròckhoof, and Guild Leader Fueghan. Leaving all 3 Drakes alive, we look out Sartharion. Fueghan won the Reins of the Black Drake. Earning Twilight Assist (10 player), Twilight Duo (10 player), The Twilight Zone (10 player) and Gonna Go When the Volcano Blows (10 player) for myself.

So in the end today I am now 15/16 for Glory of the Raider (10 player). I just need Momma Said Knock You Out (10 player) now.

Then I traveled onto Malygos 10 man with Exëcute, Aioros, Azalpha and Fueghan. They earnt
A Poke in the Eye (10 Player) for having less than 10 people, also You Don't have an Eternity (10 Player for defeating the Aspect of Magic in less than 6 Minutes.

After helping with Sougly's Dwarfageddon (10 player) group, it was onwards to join Navimie's Onyxia 25 Man. There were 16 of us for that. <McTacky takes a deep breath>.

Frostwolves: Azalpha, Execute, Faithless, Imwifher (Roshii), Imwifhim (Souglyy), Lushnek (HK), McTacky (me), Navimie, Sevros.

The Darkness Within: Dragonray, Lominari, Cynewulf, Calagendi

Others: Saintvache, Nipandtuck, & Druidelight

On the third attempt we got Onyxia Down, and 50 Whelps on Phase 2, no one hit by Deep Breath and within 5 minutes. I got more Four Achievements: Onyxia's Lair (10 player), Many Whelps! Handle It! (10 player), More Dots! (10 player), She Deep Breaths More (10 player).

Then The Darkness Within was going to Ruby Sanctum 10 man. Navimie, myself, Lushnek (HK), and Execute tagged along. Halion was dead on the first attempt.

McTacky... Graveyard Camper!?

Joined AV for some more AV rep. I am now at 18.3k/21k. The game I joined consisted of a Pre-Made team.

After defending Captain Galvangar at Iceblood Garrison with almost the full raid we slowly moved north, destroying towers, capping Snowfall Graveyard and Stonehearth Graveyards, forcing the dead to appear up North. We then reached Stormpike Graveyard and stopped. We started to kill, kill, kill without end.

It is the first time I've graveyard camped and I'm not sure what to think of it. The players we were attacking were helpless against the Premade's onslaught.

Tol Barad All-Star: Back in Tol Barad with Exëcute. I got the last 10 kills for Tol Barad All-Star I needed while we were both defending Warden's Vigil. You need to get 10 kills at a spot without dying during the ones game. You can do this over three games (one per complete spot). Won the game a short time afterwards so that was good.

Four More PvP

Four more PvP Achievements. These ones seemed more luck based than the ones I had been aiming for.
Wild Hammering: Luck Based Achievement I got in Twin Peaks. Get five Dwarf HKs in a single battleground.

Drop It Now!: Kill 5 people carrying bombs in a single game Strand of the Ancients. Only can do it while you are on defence. Can sorta be luck based. Gotta go on defensively before they can drop the bombs at the doors.

Ancient Protector: Kill 10 players in the Courtyard of the Ancients in a single battle. Another Strand of the Ancients achievement. Having the whole team defending the Courtyard and the Alliance just running in to their dooms is how I got this one.

One Two Three You Don't Know About Me: A Battle for Gilneas achievement. Cap 2 flags in the same game. I got Mines when we all ran out at the start. After a failed attack on Waterworks, I went to Lighthouse with others and capped the flag there. This is much easier than the Defend Achievements I think. Never managed to defend any of them.

Ulduar 25! (part 2)

Part 1 The raid from before was extended to get some more non-meta achievements!

Arvash tanking again. Bishop, Navimie, and I healing. Faithless, Lushnek (HK), Roshii, Sevros, and Souglyy on Damage.

Set Up Us the Bomb (25 player). What we to for Mimiron for this:

Phase 1: Don't stand on the mines
Phase 2: Don't stand in front of Mimiron during Rocket Strike
Phase 3: Don't get blown up by Bomb Bot! Range attack them.Still avoid Rocket Strike.
Phase 4: Avoid mines and Rocket Strike!

Standing in close lets you change your radius faster.

Shadowdodger: We failed this a few times. The trick was standing far away from the boss and have the people in vent yelling for you to run!

They're Coming Out of the Walls: Stand in clouds to cause nine of these to spawn, then AoE them down fast. We ended up with like 12 out. Burned them down.

Tried to get Drive Me Crazy (25 player) for the others but someone went insane seconds before Yogg-Saron died.
I Choose You, Stormcaller Brundir (25 player): This was a simple fight for us. We killed the little guy last.

Supermassive: We waited for some Living Constellations to appear then ran them into the Black Holes.

We did the 25-person run with 9 people but we made it! It was heaps of fun!

Lazy Saturday PvP Achieves

It looks like I am running out of the very easy PvP Achievements to go after and may have to set my sights higher if I want to progress.

AV Rep is now 17000/21000. Didn't manage to win any AV games today.

I was in Eye of the Storm for Take a Chill Pill. I didn't take the killing blow, but the idea is to kill someone who is buffed with the Berserker power-up. I got it when someone else in my group killed a person with the power-up.

Isle of Conquest. Demolition Derby took me time. Not because it was hard, or I had to somehow get the killing blow. No, the problem was I just had to wait for a game where the Alliance captured the Workshop! Only then can they deploy the Demolisher and Siege Engine to destroy. I was shooting things with a turret for Mowed Down and I got the killing blow on both machines.

Mowed Down is to use a turret to destroy 100 players and 10 vehicles. You don't need killing blow on the players (thank goodness) but you do have to blow up 10 vehicles yourself. Targeting stationary catapults seemed the easiest way. Gravies were always out of range of the turret, and Demolisher and Siege Engine were rare for me to see.

100 Players just takes time. Be in a castle turret a lot and get honor kills. A little bit of a grind, especially if it your side being farmed and not the other way around

Atain's First Blood

I spoke about McTacky's First PvP Kill but I think I will talk about my very first PvP kill ever.

Before achievements. Before the Honor/Dishonor system. Before the game tracked PvP kills. May 2005.

I was leveling and arrived at 1000 Needles with Gildawg (Shaman). We were both level 35 and off to Freewind Post.

After we stepped off the lift we headed down the road. Then we ran into two alliance. It wasn't the first Alliance I'd even seen, but they were the first flagged alliance I'd seen. They were about the same level as us.

Gildawg attacked and flagged himself and was beat down by the two. I waited for him to get back before we launched our counter attack.

Gildawg took on the druid and I tool on the warrior. Somehow the warrior and I ended up on the lift while Gildawg and the Alliance druid fought down on the ground.

What do you mean Atain is wearing Dungeon Set 1 and the Dwarf is wearing Tier 9 (Paladin) and the screenshot is at Stonetalon Mountains? How dare you doubt the authenticity of this image!
Up and down the lift we fought. Sometimes I'd get healled by Gildawg when the lift was down. The alliance warrior didn't seem to be getting as much heals as I was.

Then with an Execute, the Alliance Warrior died!

... you aren't even trying to make this look accurate now, are you?

I rode the lift down for the last time and found that Gildawg had finished off the druids and we carried on towards Freewind Post.

We didn't take the lift up to Freewind Post. We took the ramp.

The One That Started It All

Back in March, Cymre challanged people to show their oldest screenshot.

Show us your very first screenshot from the game. Tell us about it, including the date, what you remember about the photo and who was in it with you. Do they still play?
Now I have this blog I think I will participate! But should I do my oldest screen shot or oldest McTacky screen shot? I'll cheat and do one of each.

It was 20th August 2005. Atain (Warrior) my Main at the time wearing almost the whole [Emerald Set]. My alt Flummoxed is wearing [Embrace of the Viper] set (thanks Nokturn for the 16 runs to get those pants to drop). Atain had hit level 60 just 5 days earlier.

We're standing at the Fields of Giants at the Silithid Mounds. We were about to head to Bael'dun Keep to deal with the elite General Twinbraid for the The Tear of the Moons quest.

I was hotswapping between my two characters, that is why you can see both on the screen at the same time.

We also have a glimpse of classic Barrens Chat here. I had offered to help with the The Tear of the Moons quest on Atain, and they were talking about how my level 60 being able to do this elite quest easily. The conclusion: being level 60 is way over-rated.

Flummoxed ended up deleted during BC era. I still play Atain, but McTacky has been my main since BC came out.

Oldest Tacky screenshot. It is split into two halves:

29th January 2007. 13 days after the release of "The Burning Crusade" expansion. I hit level 40. Wearing the [Ornate Mithril Set] I made on Atain for when I turned 40 and could use Plate. The screenshot was to show my new mount off!

Since I was doing every quest I could was, even grey quests, I was getting a lot of rep. By Burning Crusade era, low level quests gave full rep, not 10% rep (or whatever low % it was when Atain did them).

Wow. I have 100 times that HP now!

Reason Screenshot split was to make this animation.

Nine PvP Achievements!

Today I joined Jinjersnaps (and Rogue alt Chatous), Grimoire, Parmenien, Arashikage. Did heaps of PvP. Heck I'll just show the nine achievements!
Tried to get Arathi Basin Assassin as well tonight. The all four of us and Shabadu moved around AB as a kill team to help me get this. Sadly was unable to get the 5 kills needed at Farm.
Things I learnt today:
●  There are speed boots in Twin Peaks.
●  To use Hand of Freedom more to get out of snares
●  That Twin Peaks has no achievement for capping 3 flags without dying like WSG.
●  That Glaive Grave is just for HKs, not Killing Blows.
●  The crybabies who like to say stupid things like "Horde Suck" and "Our Team Sucks Except Me" actually believe that drivel.
●  You get Conquest Points from winning a random battlegrounds. I thought you only got that once a day.
●  That as a Healer I somehow had to get a Killing Blow for Twin Peaks Perfection.
●  That Jinjersnaps, Grimoire, Parmenien, Arashikage and Shabadu  are more awesome that I first thought! Thanks for the huge ammont of help today!
